@june I think some modern Macs have replaceable storage, it’s just that you have to dig deep to access it.

@me i have not heard of any apple silicon mac having legitimate replaceable storage because it’s soldered on the motherboard

@june Some of the newer Apple Silicon Macs have removable SSDs (such as the 2024 Mac Mini, though, the connectors for the SSDs are proprietary), but you probably have an older Apple Silicon Mac, don’t you?

@june Closest you can get with that (without dumping 1 sextillion dollars on a new Mac or taking a heat gun and hoping you don’t fry anything) is an external storage medium like an external hard drive / SSD. There’s also the SD card slot, although, I don’t know if that’s a good idea.

@me juno . it’s a modern macbook pro. thre is no space for a SATA hard drive and there is no user-serviceable NVMe slot anywhere and this has been the case for many years now

@june I am VERY aware of that. The point here is that with that, you can only use storage that plugs into one of the USB-C ports or an SD card. No user-serviceable internal storage.
