@me are u asking about just finding a lab, or the entire process
if it’s for the former: any private lab, quest diagnostics, labcorp, etc (ik theres more but those 2 the most common) will do any tests you want as long as you pay. idk the price, depends on if u have health insurance, but even without insurance i dont think it’s a crazy amount. estrogen levels, testosterone levels, and a comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP) just in case ur body is reacting fine in other core areas to the HRT.
if you have a general primary care provider, you can also ask them to put in an order for this bloodwork but they might want to know why so they know what results to send you or what they should be looking for. i think this is still fine to do even if you tell them you want your estrogen, testosterone, and CMP checked because theres literally no reason why they would reject you wanting to be health-conscious.
@me i cant answer on interpreting the results though, or whats normal/intended for you. but i believe there are some resources out there that at least tell you a general recommended range to be in.
and obviously if you something wildly wrong like extraordinarily high T, very low E, then you dont need to figure out the specifics theres clearly a problem lol
make sure you dont get your bloodwork immediately after doing your injection. otherwise of course the estrogen levels are going to be very high immediately and the results are basically meaningless. do your injection as normal, then wait like at least 4-5 days and get it checked.
@me also idk when u started HRT or how consistent you have been doing your HRT (i think u mentioned not getting ur vials in time or whatever), but if you’re extremely new to HRT then id maybe wait on getting ur levels checked because ur body still needs time to shift the normal balance of your hormones. getting levels checked like <1 month into HRT is prob useless
but if you’ve been at it for at least 2-3 months then i think ur good to have them checked to at least see if your body is responding properly, see if your T levels are lower than the average male, etc.
@me ohh okay, then yeah ur def at a good time to see how ur body is responding to the HRT
@me hmm actually
i forgot ur 17
this miiiight be more complicated . i do not know how labs work with minors coming in and asking for bloodwork without a parent. and idk how a pediatrician would take it if you ask them you want your estrogen and testosterone levels checked
@me honestly i think you can prob get away with not doing bloodwork for a while until ur 18 then you can walk into a quest/labcorp and ask for tests and it will be officially protected medical information from anyone that isnt you (so ur parents cannot be informed and wont be allowed to find out). just please please please make sure you are researching doses heavily so you can make sure any of what you’re doing is actually very likely to work..
theres a lot of shit advice out there that says stuff like “do estradiol valerate injections 4mg every 7 days” which is bad guidance given by doctors and you get hondosed.
i dont know how to use this, but if you figure out how to, this might help you a ton with finding ur general range of ideal levels based on the type of estrogen you inject, the dose, and the frequency: https://estrannai.se/
